Attend the New Patient Information Session to learn more about the requirements and process of our bariatric surgery program. All information sessions are FREE and open to anyone interested in learning more about our weight loss surgery.
Registration is NOT required for the meeting, however we ask that you review our Program's Weight Loss Surgery Information Packet to prepare for the meeting. You can download this information from Further Information or you may request that an Information Packet be mailed to you by calling (813) 844-4576 (select option #1).
The meetings are held in the Tampa General Hospital Rehabilitation Center Activity Room, on the 2nd floor of the West Pavilion. Check the link below for currently scheduled dates and times.
Prior to scheduling an appointment for an initial consultation, all patients will be required to attend a New Patient Orientation session. The Orientation session will provides detailed information about the surgery and program requirements. All patients are require to undergo a multidisciplinary evaluation. This will be outlined in detail at the new patient information session. You will have the opportunity to schedule your appointment for the evaluation at the conclusion of the session. If you plan to schedule your appointment for the evaluation, please be prepared to make a deposit ($250).
The Support Group meeting allows newcomers to meet many of our patients who are willing to share their life changing experiences. Dates and times for these meeting are included at the following link, and within the information packet.

Please schedule an appointment with your Primary Care Physician (PCP) to discuss your interest in Bariatric surgery. If you do not have a PCP, or if your current PCP is not supportive of this surgery, we will be happy to provide you with a list of “obesity friendly” PCP’s.
